My white refrigerator is sad. Sad. Lonely. Dirty. You name it. But we aren't in the market for a new fridge - or a new dishwasher, for that matter. When we redid our kitchen years ago (I know I have photos of that renovation somewhere...) we got a new microwave and stove/oven, but opted to wait on the fridge and dishwasher.
It has annoyed me to no end that my appliances do not match since then, but new appliances are not a necessity - they are a want - and so I kept my mouth shut.
But today - today I read a wonderful blog post from a fellow "crafter" (check out Pure & Lovely on Facebook) and was INSTANTLY inspired. I have chalkboard paint begging to be used.
Today, after a serious refrigerator and dishwasher scrub down, the chalkboard paint was put to very good use!
DONE! It took three coats and I love the finished product. I forgot to take a photo of the dishwasher but it turned out great, too!
I used a paintbrush for the little spaces, but used a roller on the body of both appliances. The result is a much smoother, cleaner look.
I'd recommend this instant appliance makeover to anyone who needed one.
I did read that it is not recommended on stainless.
But then again, if I had stainless appliances to begin with, I probably wouldn't have wanted to change them anyway, right?
