THANKSgiving mantle...

I had a vision in mind when I took these random, old frames and painted them a maroon red. I was thinking Thanksgiving mantle...and I'm super stoked about how it turned out!

I chose some papers from a local crafts store, choosing patterns I thought would complement one another. Then, after ordering these great vinyl letters from www.vinylexpress.etsy.com {very cool shop and the owner was super nice and incredibly fast} I made sure to adhere them well to the paper.

And WOW - I love how it all turned out! I love the combination of papers and the red fits perfectly. I actually took my Halloween decor DOWN simply to take the photos. Yes, I'm a bit insane like that. But it was worth it. :) Typically, {actually, ever since we moved into this house} there has been a large mirror on this mantle shelf, but I really like it without the mirror.

Change is always good.

My personal favorite is the H. :)

About Us

ABBY: Abby is the oldest, the sassiest and by far, the most confident. Oh yeah, she knows what she wants, she's pretty darn sure of who she is even at her young age. Hip? Yes. Trendy? Yes. Boy crazy? Yes, yes and more yes. Her love (besides hanging out with all the neighborhood kids, which could land us in some trouble some day) is being on stage - and this stage could be the driveway, her bed, the ottoman, wherever she can get an audience. A second mommy to sweet Libby, she is a tremendous help to me (when she wants to be). Love this kid. Love her confidence, her smile is contagious. Her friendliness and compassion for others heartwarming.

KEELY: Keely, second in line, is sensitive to the core. A mama's girl through and through, she will always choose my team over her dad's. :) What can I say? She just wants to be with her mom. A lover of sports, she holds a competitive spirit, but one that shines in the most beautiful way. But boy, does she have a temper. She must get that from her dad. Not her mom. Watch out if you make her mad...don't ask her to clean her room. Yikes. Sweet Kee.

CONNOR: Connor, poor Connor probably has too much estrogen around him all the time. No wonder that when dad gets home, he pretty much does what he can to attach himself to his leg, begging for some boy time. And he is A.L.L B.O.Y. Rough housing aint my thing, so daddy is his go-to guy. Super smart, and no I'm not biased, it's just so true, this kid is gonna go places. If only he would learn how to blow his nose. ;) Truly a kind little boy, he DOES find sick satisfaction out of teasing his baby sister. After all, that's what big brothers do, right? He looks more like his dad every day - lucky boy!

LIBBY: And little Libby, who, frankly, I wish would simply STOP growing up. Wow. She is so big now...boo...mama's not liking this. She adores her sisters and brother, loves to follow them wherever they go. And adventurous. If we don't know where Libby is, she is most likely where she SHOULDN'T be. You know, in the garage alone, playing in the toilet, touching the chemicals under the sink. You know, typical stuff. She melts my heart. Every day. Love her smile, her desire to cuddle with me, everything about her. EVERYTHING. What a surprise blessing we have in her.

CHRIS: And then there is Chris. Ahh, Chris. Met him when I was a young pup at 20 years old. Seems like a lifetime ago. Let's see - what to say about Chris? If you know him, you know he's a lover of ANYTHING outdoors. Camping, hiking, skiing, exploring...hell, even yard work tickles his fancy. This, I love about him. It also means that although I may want to lounge by a pool in some exotic locale, I am, more than likely going to end up on some mountain, sucking wind as he is nonchalantly taking in the views at 12,000 feet. Sigh. Such an involved and loving dad, he is the go-to guy for fixing bikes, helping with projects and oh, yes, math homework. Yeah, don't come to me for math. :) All in all, my most favorite man in the world.

TRACEY: And me? Well, wow, I'm chatty. Love blogging, can you tell? It's my outlet. Some may not like what I have to say, but hell, I say it anyway. I love to read (which is good for me), to bake (which can be dangerous for me), to garden, to spend time with my kids and to, well, yes, b*tch about them. Because if I can't b*itch about them and share my stories with other moms, I will go criminally insane. And I'm not kidding. I hope you enjoy our stories. I hope they make you feel less crazy if you are having one of THOSE days. Because I'll guarantee that if you think you are losing it, you can just read about my crazy life, my TOTAL inability to remember anything and/or any of my behaviors that may cause you to GASP, and you will feel 150% better about yourself. And least that's my hope. :) Enjoy.
