Some summer fun

This week, Chris and I took the week off to make a trip south. We stopped in Wichita to visit with some friends and then headed to see Chris' dad in Ark City. From there, we headed a little further south to Oklahoma to take the kids to a water park. They had a great time! The park was small, so it was perfect for them to get from slide to slide. Also, because we went on a Tuesday, there were no lines.

All of them enjoyed themselves. Although we weren't able to take a bigger trip this year (a new truck and a lofty dental bill from yours truly dictated that), it was clear to us that all that matters to these kids is hanging out and having a good time.

I was able to have a girls' day with Abby and Keely. We went shopping with a friend of mine and I witnessed firsthand the problems that will be sitting right in front of me in a few years as I watched Abby try on - and successfully wear - about 13 pairs of horrible stiletto heels.

We won't tell her, but it looked like she belonged somewhere other than the mall, if you know what I mean. We walked away with some cute school clothes for her in the fall, and no stilettos! :)

Ark City, a favorite place to go for the kids, was a lot of fun. No real agenda, but the kids hung out, played with Chris' dad, and met their second cousin, Reid. :)

We are home, but taking the rest of the week off. Again, no real plans, but sometimes, that is the best vacation there is. :) Happy Summer!

Getting ready for the water park!

Chris and Connor enjoying the Blue Banana!

My girls! :)

Well, yes, he's sad...we are getting ready to go!

Uh oh, she is fading fast...

...AND...even before we leave the park, she is asleep. Sleepy baby = successful water day!
