Robin Hood Reflections

So sassy, and getting so grown up...Abby.
I loved seeing her on stage tonight. Singing and dancing. Having a great time. Still looking like a little girl, not so grown up as she has been looking lately. No attitude, no talking about boys or cell phones or clothes she wants or bikinis or 6th grade crushes or her first kiss (no, it hasn't happened and WON'T for as long as I can help it).

No mention of training bras or not wanting me around, no talk of me embarrassing her or wanting more freedom or wishing her dad and I would see her closer to a teenager...

No, none of that tonight. Only a beautiful girl, dancing with her friends, smiling and happy as can be with all that surrounds her.

I loved tonight. I hope it sticks in that (admittedly) very scatter-brained memory of mine for a very, very, very long time.

Because tonight made me very happy and proud. And sad at the same time.

Abby & Keely, many moons ago...

And this year...
