The never-ending, incessant talk about a dog

The girls want a dog. No, let me rephrase. They obsess over getting a dog. It is mentioned at any given moment, for no apparent reason.
The sun is shining. "We want a dog."
It's raining outside. "We want a dog."
I like my new shoes. "We want a dog."
Christmas is my favorite holiday. "We want a dog."
Keely hit me. "We want a dog."
I'm not tired. "We want a dog."
I don't like my dinner. "We want a dog."
I don't want to be that mom who is put away for harming her kids. But if the talk about the dog doesn't stop - or at least lessen - I may very well be that mom.
Truth be told, we were considering it last fall. Then I got pregnant.
We told the girls we thought about getting a dog, but opted for a baby instead.
Maybe not the best statement on our part.
Oops - time to run. Off to take the kids to school...goodie, maybe they will see someone walking their dog...maybe we will see a "MISSING" sign for a dog...maybe we will pass the pet store and talk about what dogs are in there...maybe we will brainstorm names for dogs.
I can't wait.
Ruff. Ruff.

Abby and Keely (and Connor and Libby) are welcome to come over and visit our dogs ANY time they'd like. Just sayin'. ;)
